Black and White with Leaves

It was my first day back at work after having a week off and after coming back from NC, which felt very weird and it was also my second to last day working for Macy's. Which is why I've been pulling all the stops with my outfits, my last chance to dress up for work, since I have a uniform and have to wear a hair net for Publix. I've been wanting to wear this skirt for work for a while now, but haven't been able to find a top for it, I finally found this one, but it was still not the best choice for it and it also fits loose like the skirt and everything else in my closet minus the new things I've bought.

The black and white top is actually a peplum from Rainbow, skirt from Love Culture and boots from Sears.

I tend to go to the dressing room at work to take my pictures as they have full body mirrors.

New earrings from Forever 21, leaf necklace from JCPenney, both rings from Beya, watch, white bracelet and small pearls bracelet from mini in the box and large pearl bracelet was taken off the Elle Woods chihuahua stuffed animal that was bought when Blockbuster still existed.

Miami Came to Nicaragua

This past Saturday was my aunt's 70th birthday and a lot of the family was getting together including her son who lives in Miami with his wife and kids all present. He came over and asked if I wanted to stay over, I said yes and had to pack in 5 minutes. Luckily I already knew what I was going to wear, so it was pretty simple. I quickly packed some jewelry, had to find something in the moment, the only thing I knew I was wearing was the pearls.

Wore a wine colored peplum top from Love Coulture, leggings and white sandals that were my mothers, but fit small on her.

36" pearl necklace from no more rack, spiral earrings from New York and Company and also wore some bracelets, all pearls, some gifted from my mother and my own designs, Zetram Designs.

Some highlights from the event, thought I'd share the decor, all brought by my cousin's wife from places like Oriental Trading and the Dollar Store.

The massive cake with added little banners made by my cousin's wife and inspired by Pinterest.

There was going to be a keg filled with local artisan beer only found in the town of Diriamba or nice restaurants, but the fridge broke down and it's the company's only machine. So they had to bring the same beer in no label bottles, which is seen in the other picture below, it was a very dark beer, but not exactly my cup of tea. To me it's the kind of beer to try once and be done.

This was a picture taken with my cousins before leaving. There were more pictures taken that day, but by a photographer, so I don't have the copies.

Tri-Borough Hopping

This day off was different from the rest because my friends from Miami were in town. We were to go with one of the girl's cousin who lives lives in the city and knows her way around and would give us a tour. Let me tell you, it was not your average tour, we went all over the boroughs and she knew a lot. I was to meet up with them at LaGuardia and that was my first time making that trip on public transport, which was subway and then the bus and I had a small hiccup and went the wrong way for a while, but was able to make it in time.

Of course I wore the Love Culture skirt my friend got me, cami's from Forever 21, cardigan from H&M, tights from Target, shoes from Payless, scarf was a gift from the same friend and the coat was borrowed from my new roommate.

Wore earrings, midi rings and chain bracelet from H&M and bow bangle from New York and Company. It was my first time wearing these and my last since I lost one, I will have to turn the remaining one into a pendant.

Took this as I was heading out to explore by myself for a bit before heading to the airport.

We went all around New York, different parts of Queens, different parts of Brooklyn and different parts of Manhattan.

We went to see Death Becomes Her, which is showcasing woman in mourning during Victorain times. There was a lot of black of course and even we were all wearing black.
